Tirant profit d'un terrain étroit et profond, le collège s’organise à partir d’un double axe structurant intérieur et extérieur distribuant les différents flux d’échanges et de liaisons et articulant les relations entre espaces. Au sein de cette colonne vertébrale, des jalons, offrant des échappées visuelles latérales vers l'extérieur ou vers l'intérieur, accentuent les relations entre dedans et dehors et offrent un cadre, une échelle intermédiaire entre « l’ouvert » et le « fermé ». Cette réunion des contraires, entre le clos rassurant et les perspectives d’évasion visuelle, entre le cadre structurant et l’ouverture, est d’un certain point de vue la traduction spatiale de l’éducation.

Le collège est conçu autour de l’écriture, l’écriture du projet lui-même pour une simplicité de lecture et de pratique des espaces, mais l’écriture comme éléments d’identité et de référents dès la façade sur le parvis, où la « page d’écriture » citant Raymond Devos accueille le collégien. Cette thématique se poursuit dans l’expression des bétons matricés lasurés et des clôtures, par une « relecture de l’écriture » sous forme d’illustration du rythme des mots.


Taking advantage of a narrow and deep field, the middle school is organised from a double axis structuring the inside and outside distributing the various flows of exchanges and connections and articulating the relations between spaces. Within this spine, milestones, providing outward and inward visual escapes, enhance relations between in and out and offer a frame, an intermediated scale between “open” and “closed”. This meeting of constraints, between the reassuring plot and the visual evasion perspectives, between the structuring frame and the opening, is from a certain point of view, the spatial translation for the education.

The middle school is designed around writing, the project’s writing itself for a simplicity of reading and spaces practice, but writing as an element of identity and referent from the façade’s forecourt, where the “writing page” quoting Raymond Devos welcomes the pupil. This theme continues in the expression of stained cast concrete and fences, through a “proofreading of the writing” as an illustration of the words rhythm.
