La volumétrie générale constitue à l’aide des différents  éléments de programme un îlot urbain protégeant les espaces extérieurs du collège. La construction constitue un écrin géométrique simple à la cour de récréation assurant la sécurité et le contrôle mais surtout un bienveillant écran aux vents dominant et aux intempéries. L’ensemble de l’enseignement s’inscrit sur l’avenue St Exupéry. L’entrée, les locaux d’accueil, du personnel éducatif et enseignant se greffent directement à l’administration dans une centralité ainsi renforcée. Enfin, le préau et l’enseignement sportif viennent clore le site au Sud Ouest. Cette limpidité spatiale appuyée d’un schéma de circulation évident participe à une gestion aisée de l’établissement. De même, l’entrée du collège, située en façade Ouest, étend le parvis dans une zone complètement sécurisée et de surcroît sous le contrôle de l’établissement. Ce lieu paysagé et protégé propose une temporisation des entrées et une aide à la dissipation des sorties.

Si les deux niveaux d’étage constituent un angle urbain fort et à l’échelle du site, leur généreux débord par rapport au rez-de-chaussée génère un espace d’accès protégé à la mesure du collégien. Ce plateau couvrant se prolongera de l’entrée à la cour protégeant les transits et les accès, issus du boulevard, au dépose minute et de la gare de bus.

L’écriture architecturale correspond à une volonté de refonte du site et des divers éléments conservés. L’approche formelle s’inscrit ainsi comme un moyen fédérateur tissant les harmonies entre les différentes époques de construction.

The general volumetry is, with the aid of the various program elements, an urban block protecting the outdoor spaces of the middle school. The construction is a simple geometric setting at the playground ensuring safety and control but especially a screen to winds and bad weather. The entire school is on Avenue St Exupéry. The entrance, the reception areas, the educational staff and the staff room implant themselves directly to the administration thus reinforcing the centrality. Finally, the courtyard and the sports education close the site at its southwest. This spatial clarity supported by an obvious circulation scheme contributes to an easy management of the school. Likewise, the entrance of the middle school, located on the west façade, extends to the forecourt into a completely secure area and is also under the control of the school. This landscaped and protected place offers a temporization of the entries and help with the dissipation of the exits.  

If the two floors form a strong urban angle and at the site scale, their generous overflow from the ground floor generates a protected access space to the extent of the pupils. This covered plateau will extend from the entrance of the courtyard protecting transits and accesses, from the boulevard, to the drop-off and the bus station.

The architectural writing corresponds to a desire to recast the site and the various elements preserved.The formal approach is thus registered as a federating mean weaving harmonies between different eras of construction.
