Au cœur d’un tissu urbain dense, le campus double sa surface d’accueil sur une parcelle déjà occupée par quatre bâtiments d’époques différentes. À l’issue de l’opération, le nouveau campus de Lille totalisera près de 17 000 m² dont 11 000 m² totalement repensés avec l’opération du Village IÉSEG. Novateur sur les concepts pédagogiques (inspirés par la démarche de Vision 2025 sur laquelle s’est impliquée toute la communauté IÉSEG), le projet adopte le rapport à la ville comme thème majeur; on parle non seulement d’intégration au cœur de la ville mais également d’un modèle d’organisation.

Le concept du village - avec l’ouverture et la fluidité de son système viaire structuré à partir d’un centre - favorise la proximité, les échanges, les rencontres, l’émulation, la cohésion...
Ainsi, le projet fluidifie des circulations conviviales, aménagées et meublées, autour d’un nouveau cœur; un grand hall ou pour tisser la métaphore du village, une grande place centrale avec cafétéria et espaces d’échanges. Il organise également de nombreuses respirations en faisant largement entrer la lumière naturelle et en créant des patios et des espaces végétalisés.

Acte architectural fort au cœur de Lille et ouvrant des perspectives au sein de la densification, le Village IÉSEG se déploie derrière une même et unique façade vitrée parsemée d’une sérigraphie pointilliste miroitante. À la fois protectrice et symbole de la transparence comme du lien de l’école avec l’extérieur, elle signe l’harmonie et l’identité du projet.

At the heart of a dense urban fabric, the campus doubles its capacity on a plot already occupied by four buildings from different eras. Upon completion of the project, the new Lille campus will total nearly 17,000 m², with 11,000 m² completely redesigned as part of the IÉSEG Village initiative. Innovative in its pedagogical concepts (inspired by the Vision 2025 initiative, in which the entire IÉSEG community has been involved), the project adopts the relationship with the city as a major theme; it speaks not only of integration into the heart of the city but also of a model of organization.

The village concept—with the openness and fluidity of its transportation system structured around a central hub—encourages proximity, exchange, meetings, stimulation, and cohesion. Thus, the project facilitates friendly circulation, designed and furnished around a new heart; a large hall or, to extend the village metaphor, a central square with a cafeteria and spaces for exchange. It also organizes numerous breathing spaces by allowing natural light to flood in and by creating patios and green areas.

A strong architectural act at the heart of Lille, opening up perspectives within urban densification, the IÉSEG Village unfolds behind a single glass façade adorned with shimmering pointillist screen printing. Both protective and a symbol of transparency, as well as the school’s connection to the outside, it embodies the harmony and identity of the project.
