La façade sur parvis est un pignon résolument urbain. Arche captivante surplombant le parvis, elle révèle l’articulation du bâtiment, permettant la compréhension et l’appropriation immédiate de l’organisation du lieu. Tel un vaste hall urbain, transversal au parvis, il happe à son tour le passant, bientôt au cœur même du dispositif. Les écrans situés derrière la façade vitrée s’inscrivent dans la trame des affiches, forme un grand bandeau panoramique où l’effet de pixellisation renvoie à la définition de l’image des projections numériques. En plus de l’affichage des films, la façade telle un grand écran devient support de projections événementielles. Lieu de l’échange visuel, cette interface participe pour sa part à l’élaboration d’un contexte paysager des plus contemporains.

A l’intérieur, rangées face à face comme des navires à quai, les salles de projection montrent le soulèvement de leur poupe sculptée par leur organisation intérieure en gradins et organisent un hall traversant compact et ouvert reliant le parvis d’entrée d’un côté au paysage de la garrigue de l’autre. Cette construction spatiale en cadrages successifs inspirés de la technique cinématographique métamorphose les spectateurs en acteurs des différents plans séquences et les projette métaphoriquement dans un « film du réel ».

The forecourt facade is decidedly an urban gable. Captivating arch overhanging the forecourt, it reveals the building’s organisation allowing the direct comprehension and appropriation of the space. As a vast urban hallway, going through the square, it catches the passer-by, soon at the very heart of the plan. The screens located behind the glass facade fuse in the bill frame, form a large panorama where the pixels effect refers to the definition of an image of digital projections. More to the films bills, the facade as a big screen becomes a support for special events projections. Like a visual exchange space, this interface is involved in the development of the contemporary landscape.

In the inside, accommodated facing each other as ships in a dock, the screening rooms show the lifting of their sculpted stern by the inside organisation in tiers and organise a compact and open through hallway connecting the forecourt and the garigue landscape. This spatial construction with successive frames inspired by the cinema turns spectators into actors of different sequence shots and projects them metaphorically into a “real movie”.
