"....Le terrain est à la limite Nord-Ouest de Coupvray (...) déjà dans les champs, au pied d'un coteau orienté au Sud, bordé  en pied par le canal de la Marne en partie masqué par des  rideaux d'arbres. En pente légère, le terrain est gorgé d'eau,  drainé depuis des lustres, marécageux près du canal. Arbres, prairie, humidité, champs, bâti: maniant ces cinq instruments,  les maîtres d'oeuvre inventent un paysage et des architectures en sympathie, liés par des objectifs communs.

Le terrain est aménagé en paliers, autant de plates-formes qui, à partir du Nord, accueillent en bandes parallèles étirées Est- Ouest: le parking planté d'érables Ruberum, bordé d'une double  rangée de hêtres; en contrebas, sept tennis dont trois couverts;  le "pré carré" avec ses quatre alignements de tilleuls, échos de  ceux qui émaillent ici et là les alentours de Coupvray; le bassin  pour drainer les eaux de pluies d'amont; vers le bas, le grand  à-plat du terrain de foot, calé sur le gymnase, d'autres terrains, entourés de pommiers; plus bas encore, les petits fossés et entre eux, des saules et des chênes des marais.

".... The land is at the northwest edge of Coupvray (…) already in the fields, at the foot of a slope facing south, bordered by the Marne channel partly hidden by curtains of trees. The slightly sloping land is saturated with water, it has been drained for ages and is swampy. Trees, meadow, humidity, fields and built: by handling these five instruments, the project managers create a landscape and architectures in sympathy, linked by common goals.

The land is laid out in stages, platforms that, from the north, welcome in parallel bands stretched East-West: the parking, planted with acer rubrum, bordered with a double-row of beeches; below seven tennis courts whose three covered. The “pré carré” with its four alignments of lime trees, echoes of those enamelling here and there around Coupvray; the basin to drain upstream rainwater, down, the big flat of the football field, stalled on the gymnasium, other lands, surrounded by apple trees; lower, the small ditches and between them, some willows and pin oaks.
