CPA SIMUSANTE - CHU
Active Pedagogy Centre SimUSanté
Amiens
« Greffe à l’existant »
« Transplant to the existing »

The project fits in an existing building, a learning program in a care environment reliably reconstituted: premises, patients and acting performance, multidisciplinary team. It uses the sloping ground and the two new access levels. To integrate the active pedagogy centre within the university-affiliated hospital, the project ensures functional links.

While integrating into the surrounding architecture, it brings a strong identification and a contemporary and technical image which displays, thus, the singularity of a sophisticated equipment. It develops the concept of hospitality and conviviality in order to notice and identify the different functions offered to some diverse and varied users, in continuous course as in initial course. SimUsanté® is the largest European centre of excellence in the field of active pedagogy and simulation in health.

The ambition of the centre is to learn together to heal together; it gathers:

· 51 simulation areas, spread over 3 floors, including a reconstituted hospital and a simulated area (medical practice, pharmacy, home)

· 43 equipped premises for audio/video recording in connection with on-site or remote debriefing areas

· Nearly 150 dummies and simulators including 12 high fidelity and 15 image processing consoles

The premises include also consultation and treatment rooms, hospital rooms, hospital technical platform elements and specialised simulation area (emergency department, neonatal obstetrics, surgery, anaesthesia reanimation, imaging, NRBC risks).
