L’équipement est historiquement partie intégrante de la faculté de Médecine Henri Warembourg, réalisée dans les années d’après-guerre en « double architectural » de l’Hôpital Huriez.
4e bibliothèque Universitaire de France en termes de patrimoine d’archives, la B.U. Santé s’est enrichie à l’issue des travaux d’un niveau supplémentaire dédié à l’administration, d’une refonte totale des espaces de consultation et d’un accès personnalisé et identitaire.
Le projet répartit la consultation dans une rotonde et dans un ensemble longitudinal dont les poteaux très massifs structurent la déambulation. La distribution des tables et des rayonnages accompagne la géométrie dans une volonté d’ouverture visuelle maximale. Accompagnée par une conception de mise en lumière soulignant l’impression de plafonds flottant, l’espace compense la pesanteur des porteurs au profit d’une ambiance sereine et aérienne.
La constitution de l’accès identitaire de la bibliothèque est l’occasion d’un jeu de pontons enjambant la longue cour anglaise protégé par un auvent suspendu. La sobriété des matériaux et la précision de leur mise en œuvre confère un équilibre d’élégance discrète entre le respect de haute façade et de l’IGH et la nécessité du signal.
The equipment is historically an integral part of the faculty of medicine Henri Warembourg and was carried out in the post-war years as "architectural double" of the Huriez Hospital.
4th of France in terms of archives heritage, the university library has been enriched, at the end of a work for an additional level dedicated to the administration, of a complete overhaul of the open space of the library and of its personalised and identity access.
The project divides the documentation through a rotunda and a longitudinal whole whose very massive posts structure the ambulation. The distribution of tables and shelving accompanies the geometry in a will of maximum visual opening. Accompanied by a lighting design highlighting the impression of floating ceilings, the space offsets for the weight of the posts in favour of a serene and airy atmosphere.
The constitution of an identity access for the library offers the opportunity for a game between the pontoons spanning the long English court protected by a suspended canopy. The simplicity of the materials and the precision of their implementation confers a discreet and elegant balance through the respect of high façade, the high-rise building and the necessity of the signal.
